sweaty feet (Plantar Hyperhidrosis) is a term that refers to the constant/uncontrolled sweating of the feet. This is a problematic and embarrassing situation. It causes the feet to bring out more sweat than necessary thus, causing your shoes to be soaked with sweat and your feet to smell as a result of the excessive sweating.
Causes of sweaty feet
Causes of sweaty feet could be as a result of genetics. That is, it can be passed on from parents to offspring. It can also be less likely as a result of certain illness such as diabetics.
Other causes of sweaty feet include wearing of shoes that causes excessive sweating such as shoes made of synthetic and socks made of woven material (fabric). These cause excessive sweating of the feet and encourage/favor the growth of bacteria that causes sweaty feet.
How to prevent sweaty feet
Do not put on shoes with tight fittings and heavy socks as your feet are bound to sweat. Wear shoes and socks that are comfortable. When shopping for shoes, you should avoid buying shoes, made of synthetic material instead go for simple and natural shoes. Most importantly, keep up a proper hygiene. Keep your feet clean. Wash feet with soap. Wash feet with soap and water especially, between the toes.
Treatment for sweaty feet
If the sweat coming out on your feet is not too serious, you can do something to reduce it. To reduce it, wash your feet with antibacterial soap. Dry the feet completely. You can apply foot powder or spray antiperspirants.
There are many, creams, soaps, powder that can help you get over the problem of excessive sweating of the feet. Antiperspirants that can make your feet sweat less are also available.
However, you may want to seek medical advice from a dermatologist before using products.
