Stop Smelly Feet With These Tips

Smelly feet put one most times in an embarrassing situation. Taking off your shoes in public is usually a big problem because of the offensive odor coming out from the feet. Do you know you can stop smelly feet by properly caring for your feet? The following are some of the ways to go about it.

How to prevent smelly feet

  • Wash your feet daily. Washing of the feet helps to keep bacteria always from your feet. The presence of bacteria on the feet often cause it to smell. A healthy feet hygiene will help to keep bacteria on your feet at minimal level. Use lukewarm water and a mild soap preferably anti bacteria soaps to wash your feet to reduce your chance of having bacteria on your feet as well as taking out those bacteria that may have found their way to your feet.

  • Always dry your feet immediately after wash. This is necessary because bacteria love a damp environment. Drying your feet will help you reduce bacteria on your feet because the environment becomes unfavorable for them to thrive.

  • The type of socks you put on should not be those that cause your feet to sweat. They should rather be those that help to absorb moisture from the feet. Examples of socks that can absorb sweat are socks made from only cotton or socks made from cotton and wool.

  • Your shoes should also be the type that allow air to your feet. Examples of such shoes are scandals, slippers, etc. shoes made from leather does not cause excessive sweating of the feet. So , you should wear more of leather and wear less of shoes made from materials such as polyester or synthetic as they cause your feet to sweat more; unless of course you are not the sweaty type.
