Care For Your Feet With These Tips

It is very important to care for all parts of the body. Certain parts of the body are often neglected and one of such part is the feet. When the feet is not properly care for, it gives room for bacteria and fungus to attack the feet. 
The following are tips to help you care for your feet.

  • Wash your feet everyday. Use soap, preferably anti-bacterial soaps, to wash your feet. Don’t forget the spaces between your toes.

  • Towel your feet thoroughly after wash with a clean uninfected towel. Remember to wipe the areas between your toes as leaving it damp encourages the spread of bacteria on your feet.

  • Moisturize your feet daily with a good foot moisturizing cream. The best time would be immediately after wash.

  • Examine your feet regularly. You can ask someone to examine it for you. If you notice any abnormalities don’t hesitate to contact your doctor. You can also visit a podiatrist to have your feet examine.

  • Avoid exposing your feet to harsh or unusual weather conditions such as dry cold weather or temperature. These conditions may cause problem for your feet.

  • Wear the right socks for your feet. Ensure the socks fit your feet well. Shop for socks that have the capacity to absorb moisture or sweat from your feet. Examples of such socks would be socks made from cotton or socks made from cotton and wool. Wear one or two socks daily.

  • Wear the correct shoes for your feet. The right shoe for your feet would be shoes that sits very well and allows your feet to breathe. An example would be leather shoes. Don’t wear the same pair of shoes daily.

  • Cut or trim your toe nails and do so correctly as wrong trimming of the nails may lead to the growth of ingrown nails. The right way to cut your toenails is to cut straight across and use a nail file to trim or smooth the edges of your nail.

  • Cover your feet when out in public places especially when using public facilities to prevent you from getting infested by bacteria and fungus that may be on the floor.
